Son of Professor (Col.) Dr. R. M. Kasliwal M.D., F.R.C.P. (London), F.N.A., F.A.M.S. (India), F.I.I.C.S. (London), F.C.C.P., F.A.I.A.P., F.I.C.A. (U.S.A.), who was Professor of Medicine for over 30 years and Principal & Dean of Swai Man Singh Medical College, Jaipur for over 17 years. Director of Medical and Health Services of Rajasthan, Dr. Kasliwal served in the Army in I.M.S. for 11 years and also participated in the freedom movement of our country as a member of the Indian National Army where he served in various capacities including D.M.S. Azad Hind Fauj and personal physician to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. For this role he was awarded TAMRA PATRA by the Prime Minister of India.
Dr. R. M. Kasliwal also received the B.C. Roy National Award in 1972. He had more than 275 publications. He was a teacher of teachers.
